“Best Things Since Sliced Bread

After having a knee replacement, compression hose were impossible for me to get on by myself. I found these at Amazon.com and they are the best things since sliced bread!!! The compression socks arrived quickly and in perfect, unused condition. I weigh just over 300 lbs. with a rather serious and uncomfortable leg/foot swelling problem, which also causes shoe/pant-fitting issues. I'm working to reduce my weight in the hopes this problem will be reduced or eliminated, along with other weight-related issues. But, in the meantime, I need something to reduce/eliminate the swelling right now.

The socks were neatly folded inside an adhesive-sealed, clear plastic envelope. The material felt substantial with good stretchability. Unlike many other compression socks I shopped, calves are shielded from the zipper by a flap of material for comfort. Putting them on, something I dreaded, turned out to be quite easy, actually, despite my rather large calves. Of course, you have to stretch the material along the calf to bring the zippered sides close to each other before zipping them up.

I was afraid that the tension placed on the zipper while zipping it up would possibly cause the zipper teeth to fail/separate. But, it went smoothly without a hitch! The zipper pulls have cloth loop extensions, so getting a firm hold on it is a breeze, even with my numb fingers (another health issue of mine). Once fully zipped, I could feel a definite pressure all around the calf, which is as expected. However, I don't think I'm feeling quite as much compression around the foot, but time will tell if there's enough compression on both the feet and calves, at which time I will update my review.

I purchased only one pair because I didn't know for certain that I had made a good choice with this brand from Lemon Hero (strange brand name, huh?). I am satisfied enough already that I will purchase a couple more so I always have a clean pair to wear. I recommend you do as I did. My swelling is at it's minimum in the morning after having been prone all night. That's when you should put these on - before swelling begins to build. I also highly recommend wearing compression socks during airplane flights, especially longer ones, and when you will be sitting for extended times.

So, based on my initial impressions, I do recommend these compression socks. The quality is immediately apparent, and the price is reasonable - not too low or too high. Be wary of super-cheap ones, as you do tend to get what you pay for. By the same token, there are way over-priced ones. Check buyer reviews. I think I shopped wisely this time!
